A Wife's Poem and Free Vintage Christmas Image

Hi Everybody!

How's your week going? It's been really busy around here. We've been watching the grandkids for our daughter while our DIL, their normal sitter, takes a vacation. They have been keeping us on our toes. lol But, I must say, they've been a nice distraction!

I am suffering from a massive writers block this week, so I thought I'd do the easy thing and share this little ditty that we received from a friend. I thought it was so cute! Perfect for those new wives when things get a little tough. lol

A Wife's Poem
Author unknown

He didn't like the casserole
And he didn't like my cake,
He said my biscuits were to hard
Not at all like his mother used to make.
I didn't perk the coffee right
He didn't like the stew,
I didn't mend his socks
The way his mother used to do.
I pondered for an answer
I was looking for a clue.
Then I turned around and
smacked the s##t out of him...
Like his mother used to do.

I wonder does anybody perk their coffee anymore? I used to when we were tent camping but I can't say that I've done it anytime in the recent past. How about you?

I thought I'd share this really cute husband/wife Vintage Christmas Card with you. Make sure you click on it before you save it.

Don't forget about the Christmas BOGO sale going on over at my Art Fire Store. Just click on the little girl and clock image up there in the right hand corner.

Have a great week, plumb full of smiles!
Peggy

  1. Lol! This is so cute! Love their expressions and the colors are so nice. We are some of the few people that don't drink coffee, we are tea drinkers. Enjoy your grandkids and have a great day!

  6. Thank you for this cute Christmas image! My husband was looking for an old percolator and one of the guys he works with found a big box of them at an auction. Now on nice Saturday or Sunday mornings. He sits out on the deck and makes his coffee on the side burner of the grill.

  8. Cute poem. It goes back to 1917, in one version or another:
